What are you going to do if you have a mango farm like this? What are you going to feel? I bet if you are a mango lover you will tend to live in this farm even without a house rather than to live in a very huge castle without this mesmerizing fruit. This is true to Ms. Ludovice, whose clan have three long hectares of land in different locations in the Philippines-- two located in Bicol and the other one in Laguna (as shown on the picture above.) Of course, they don't chose to live there without a house but she would always feel this way every time she's on their farm. Aside from giving her the time to have herself refreshed and calmed, the farm gives her the feeling like she's on a mango paradise!
But the problem arose in 2008, when her grandfather can no longer handle those three huge hectares of mango farm at the same time. They eventually came up with a solution. The owner of these farms decided to pass the authority to one of his sons-- Mr. Gigi Ludovice, which is Hazel's father. But another problem came out when they failed to provide mango stocks to their customers at the given time resulting into the downfall of their farming business. They don't have any choice but to sell one of their farms located in Bicol. Thus, there's only two (2) mango farms left by the year 2009. It was really the time of battle for the Ludovice clan but they must fight for their clan's pride which they nurtured for a lot of decades.
As for Ms. Ludovice, who has a long plan of having a marriage with Mr. Abelardo Gajarion Jr., this situation is very depressing. She have to cope up with the lost of one of their farms, which eventually led to the death of her grandfather in July 22, 2009 due to different complications caused by his sickness and was even more altered by his severe depression. Hazel and Abel has been planning to get married by the year 2011, but it turned out there is something more important that they have to resolve first. Three complicated things engulfed Hazel-- the lost of one of their farms; the lost of her grandfather; and the planned wedding which did not materialize.
As a daughter of her father which is the present owner of these farms, the weight of the problem also haunts her. She wants to recover the lost farm which was sold few years ago. Gajarion, her boyfriend was all out in supporting her in planning to materialize her plans.
Sweethearts and partner entrepreneurs Abelardo Gajarion Jr. and Hazel Ann Ludovice on their College "Foundation Day."
Abel and Hazel met each other on Asian Institute of Computer Studies (Commonwealth) when they were on their Third year in College. They were classmates who took Bachelor's Degree in Entrepreneurship and later fell in love with each other. They are indeed Entrepreneurs by heart since Hazel came from a family with lots of mango farms and Abel, on the other hand, has also a small family business that her mother is handling. They graduated in 2006. Hazel proceeded to work as a business secretary of their clan's farm business and Abel went to Abu Dhabi to work as a Assistant Marketing Manager and returned to the Philippines two years later.
It was Gajarion who told Hazel to start up a business in the form of "Partnership." Gajarion suggested that Hazel should use the remaining farms as the means to start a new business. There will be another loss-- but that is the reason why Businessmen are called "Entrepreneurs" which literally mean risk-takers. On the 18th of April, 2010 they asked the permission of Hazel's father Gigi to sell one of the remaining farms, the one that is located in Laguna for the establishment of the business and to recover the sold farms (including the one they are going to sell.) They explained it would be hard but nothing will happen if they are not going to make a move. Mr. Gigi refused for one year but eventually decided to accept their offer on the 5th of September, 2011.
Along with other partners; Joel Quillopo, Abel Rabi, Willy Dalayday and Wayne Manalansan, they established the business which they registered to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as EL Mango Paradiso. Bearing the initial capital of more than 3 million, they started a business in the form of Partnership. Today, El Mango Paradiso is on operations for the past five years. The restaurant is located in UP Technohub, Quezon City and they are now planning to establish a new branch in Eastwood City, Libis. Right at this moment and beyond El Mango Paradiso will continue to prosper for the upcoming future and plans to create several branches in all parts of the Philippines to achieve the business' goal and perspective and to provide the production of tasty dishes specialize by the power of the mango fruit.
